It was like walking into a whole new world. Rich red lamps and mesmerising chandeliers hang from the three meter high ceilings. Lush gold designs hug the walls. And long tables span across the heritage listed room. One step through the doors of Libertine restaurant and you are immersed in a fusion of French-colonial bordello and Vietnamese culture.
Libertine is a local favorite of mine. I have spent many occasions here – ladies luncheons, banquets, valentines day and dinners with friends. However I was yet so try their dessert so tonight I decided to treat myself to a chai latte and their amazing dessert platter. I sampled ice cream, sorbet, citrus cakes, panna cotta and more. It was a divine way to make up for my many missed desserts on previous visits. It goes to show that Libertine is a great restaurant of superb quality and can be enjoyed for more than just a main meal.
