From the street view, visitors and locals can see nothing more than a private and alluring staircase, encouraging all curiosity to enter. The redeveloped space incorporates an earth inspired arrangement of stone, wood and leather, from the stunning artwork Herd 2009 by B. Smith, supplied by Jan Manton Art, to the cedar atlas Aseop handwash, the beachwood candleholders, the hot stones that warm the flavorsome bread and the pebble butter dishes.

Diners are invited to join the warm and welcoming Maîtres d’ and internationally acclaimed co-owner and Executive Chef Alejandro Cancino for nothing less than a seasonal degustation of dynamic food experiences, with meat, vegetarian and vegan selections.

Sophisticated ‘snacks’ are delivered to each candlelit, silver service table, as what feels like a degustation in itself. The food and beverage pre-dinner selections are by far the most inventive and distinctive. The vegan tastings open the palate to interesting experiences that push diners out of their cuisine comfort zones.

Paired with unique wines, the five-course carnivore degustation continues to stimulate the taste buds of diners with exceptionally fine seafood and meat, such as octopus.

Each element in this degustation brings the charm of Urbane into the dish with earth tasting notes and calculated plating with the utmost care and delicacy intended for petit mouthfuls.

One particularly inimitable course is the Sweetbread with Smoked Eel and Onion, boasting diverse cooking techniques and served with the 2011 Domaine Lathuiliere-Gravellon ‘La Madonne’ Gamay Noir from France.

However the Wagu with a single Oyster and symmetrically perfect cube of Bone Marro is the most favorable of courses as something that diners can sink their teeth into while the Wagu melts in the mouth.

This dish comes served with the 2010 Greenstone Sagiovese, Heathcote from Victoria while other courses allow diners to sample wines from South Africa and the USA.
