Four Mile Beach in Port Douglas begins at the northern rocky headland, with dozens of tourists flocking in with their private reserved beach umbrellas and their own buckets and spades for the kids.
The undeveloped area is surrounded by original palm trees, bringing shade over the edge of the sand. It is also boarded by two World Heritage Listed areas.
The warm and inviting waters allow visitors to spend the day relaxing, take a sail boat out towards where the dolphins play, try parasailing, dig for sand crabs or take the nearby lookout walk with panoramic ocean views at the top.
