From here, the dancers took the audience on a journey to a faraway land where one young princess waited for her love to wake her from an evil spell.

Choreographed by Timothy Brown, the sizeable cast of young dancers charmed the audience with their poised ballet techniques and delightfully wide smiles.

In particular, Hannah Hughes and Liam Geck, who performed Aurora and the prince in their adult years, mesmerised the crowd with a glorious pas de deux when reconnected, illustrating much skill and precision.

Costume Designer Carmel Wenck utilised lilac tulle, satins, pink rosebuds and shimmering hand-sewn beadwork that contributed to the magic of The Sleeping Beauty.

Once more, the fabrics and designs looked stunning against the rich and blossoming set design.

Ballet Theatre of Queensland delivered a magical and inspired performance with a talented young cast of local up and coming dancers.
