Spanish Film Festival

From the 29th of April, Fortitude Valley will feature a pop of culture with the opening of the 2015 Spanish Film Festival at the Palace Cinemas.

The programme features 38 contemporary and award winning Spanish films which have been chosen for their authentic and engaging stories.

Over the two weeks of festivities, a number of events will be held to celebrate the films, such as tango dancing, wine, tapas and live entertainment.

The opening night will showcase endearing romantic comedy, Spanish Affair

Meanwhile, closing night will feature the premier of Wild Tales, which received the 2015 Goya award for best Spanish language film and also has received an Academy Award for best foreign-language film.

Spanish Affair pokes fun at cultural differences and is a classic comedy of errors- while Wild Tales shows six everyday situations escalate when the main protagonists are pushed to their limits and decide to seek vengeance.

All 38 films display universally recognised themes andsucceed in surpassing language barriers.

With varying genres being shown, there is something to suit all tastes at Spanish Film Festival.
