To begin July fresh and cultured, consider eating local as 2015’s Eat Local Week kicks off today.
The event will take place at multiple small towns and tourist locations across the Scenic Rim in Queensland, including Mt Barney and Tambourine Mountain.
The week’s signature event, the ‘Winter Harvest Festival’ will take place on July 4, allowing foodies to meet farmers and buy their produce.
Held at Aratula Community Sports Complex, the ‘Winter Harvest Festival’ will feature market stalls, tasting plates, live music as well as celebrity chefs – the perfect place for a family outing.
For those who prefer the experience of a wine tasting soiree, consider dropping by at Tambourine Mountain on June 29, 6pm, to experience a wine, cheese and canapé tasting.
The Witches Falls Winery Cellar Door will be holding a classy evening event, with canapés made by a local chef and Tambourine Cooking School owner Terri Taylor.
Visitors will also be shown how the local wines, cheeses and canapés are made.
