Ballet Revolución at QPAC

Ballet Revolución has returned to Brisbane after a series of sold-out shows across Europe and Asia.

Direct from Cuba, the show returns backed by a 19-strong dance troupe and an 8-piece band performing a slew of recent hits, as well as classical numbers.

Choreographed by Brisbane-native Aaron Cash, along with Cuban choreographer Roclan Gonzalez Chavez, Ballet Revolución presents a unique fusion of contemporary, classical, and Cuban dance.

The dancers’ energy is contagious, as they 100% to their performance, making for a hot, fast-paced, flawlessly executed show.

Highlights included the “Mambo”, “Take Me To Church”, “Purple Rain”, as well as a very technical routine using chairs as props.

Backed by a live band performing both classical and contempory songs, with stand-out performances from Yeleny Aguirre Camacho, Lianett Rodriguez Gonzalez, and Ariel Himeliz Mejica.

The versatility in skill of this troupe makes for a truly exhilarating and impressive performance. This is a must see show for lovers of all kinds of dance – it will leave you wanting more!
