Oktoberfest 2015

Bringing together all lovers of German fun, food and culture over two weekends in October, Oktoberfest is set to transform the heart of Brisbane into an authentic German town festival.

As voted by National Geographic Traveler, Oktoberfest Brisbane is one of the top ten Oktoberfests outside of Germany. It is a cultural festival full of sounds, thrills, singing, laughter, relaxation and of course full of German infamous food and beer.

Pleasure your tastebuds by discovering traditional and new tasty German food favourites. King of Cakes, Kaffee and Kuchen and Sausage Royalty are three of many elegant food stalls representing the absolute finest in German gourmet foods at Oktoberfest.

Enjoy the classic favourites of pork knuckles, sauerkraut, schnitzels, cheesecake, black forest, apple strudel and of course the delicious freshly-baked pretzels. Even enjoy authentic German specialties such as baked potato dishes, salads, dips and strawberries in chocolate. Try any of these goods, and you’ll love the German festival that much more.

It wouldn’t be Oktoberfest without traditional German beer! There are three refreshing flagship beers packed with flavor made only for the festival to enjoy. These beers will be found nowhere else in the world.

343-year-old Tucher Brewery in Bavaria creates their Lager and Wheat Beer (Weissbier), while international award-winning Burleigh Brewing Co. handcrafts their German style dark beer (Dunkelbier). Aside from the beer, Okoberfest presents their truly classic German white, red and sparkling wines from their award winning German winery, Brogsitter.

Without actually going to Germany, this is the closest you will get to experiencing a real German folk festival. It is great entertainment for everyone. Sing, dance, clap, ‘schunkel’ and laugh to all the shows, competitions and activities in the massive Oktoberfest Tent, German Connections Tent and the Munich Biergarten.

As well as Brisbane Oktoberfest being all about cultural fun traditions, since 2008 they have helped raise over $155 000 for the Youngcare charity. Youngcare is a charity that helps thousands of young Australians with high care needs move from retirement homes to Youngcare accommodation for greater independence, dignity and freedom of living.

Over two special weekends of entertainment, Oktoberfest is ready for everyone to enjoy the traditions, fun and food of Germany presented in the most authentic and enjoyable way possible.
