Top three movies for 2016

2016 is set to be a HUGE one at the movies. This year it’s all about super-heros, super-villans, revamped comedy classics, and plenty of Disney.

To get you started, we’ve put together a list of our top three
must see movies of 2016. Prepare the pop-corn!

1. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

70 years before Harry potter reads his book, wizard writer, Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) arrives in New York at the Magical Congress of the United States to attend a hearing.

He carries with him a magical briefcase which houses a number of dangerous creatures.

When the creatures escape from the suitcase, tensions will heighten between the magical and non-magical world.

Why you should see it:

The script for this movie was written by one of the finest children’s author’s of our time, the wonderful JK Rowling.

The plot is clever and original and Oscar regular, Eddie Redmayne will play the lead role, going by his history, he is unlikely to disappoint.

2. Zoolander 2

Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller have revived the classic Zoolander duo Derek and Hansel, ten years after the original film was released.

In this sequel the world’s most beautiful people are being assassinated.

Derek Zoolander (Stiller) and his friend Hansel (Wilson) are recruited to penetrate the world of high fashion and put a stop to the assassinations.

Why you should see it:

Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson’s careers have hardly slowed in the last 10 years, so there’s nothing to say they don’t have it in them to pull this movie off, despite the wildly high expectations.

Will Ferrel, also still at the top of his game, will reprise the role of the hilarious Jacobim Mugatu, comedy it girl, Kristen Wigg and academy award winner Penelope Cruise also have leading roles, not to mention the ridiculous cameo line-up, including Anna Wintour, Justin Bieber and Benedict Cumberbatch, just to name a few. Big laughs are guaranteed.

3. Hail Caesar

Hail Caesar, follows a day in the life of Eddie Mannix (Josh Brolin), a “fixer” working in the Hollywood film industry in the 1950s.

Mannix is trying to discover what happened to a cast member who vanishes during filming.

Why you should see it:

This movie appears to truly have it all; Possibly the most epic cast in cinema history.

Including but not limited to George Clooney, Josh Brolin, Scarlett Johansson, and Ralph Finnes, directed and written by the greatest brother duo, in the business, four-time Oscar winners, Ethan and Joel Coen, with their signature quirky and original plot line, stunning costume and set design and judging by the previews alone, plenty of laughs.

This is sure to be another instant classic by the wonderful Coen brothers and in our opinion, the number one must see of 2016.
