We always welcome a new Coen brother’s film, and certainly Hail, Caesar! afforded widespread interest to audiences of all ages.
Starring an impressive star line up: Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Scarlett Johansson, Ralph Fiennes, Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Tilda Swinton and more.
Taking place in 1950s Hollywood studio, the film focuses on ‘fixer’ Eddie Mannix (Brolin) and his endless cycle of managing the studio’s actors and crew to roll out his newest prestige picture, Hail, Caesar!
However, things go awry when his lead actor, Baird Whitlock (Clooney) is kidnapped.
The film is light hearted, farce comedy with quick paced wit and hilarious performance interludes.
With a PG rating, it steers clear of any crass or violence but keeps its audience entertained with silliness.
While the plot is not all that coherent, it’s clear that the brothers aim to stimulate audience’s philosophies of faith.
With the many references to religion and character’s wavering personal beliefs and sense of fulfilment, the film resonates a similar feel within its audience.
