We all know the familiar tale of Snow White but, let’s face it, it’s the fabulously dressed Evil Queen that you really want to see.
Director Cedric Nicolas-Troyan brings us the origin story behind the fairytale in The Huntsman: Winter’s War, exploring the enchanted yet gritty kingdom of Tabor once more.
In the prequel to Snow White and the Huntsman, the film tells the story of sisters Ravenna and Freya who endure heartache, murder and betrayal.
After Freya loses her daughter at the hands of what she believes to be her lover, the ice Queen (Emily Blunt) unleashes her powers and creates an army of huntsman.
Years later, after forbidding all love from her new kingdom in the north, Freya seperates two huntsman (Chris Hemsworth and Jessica Chastain) who vow to flee the kingdom and live together.
Fast-forward seven years, after being vanquished by Snow White’s blade, Ravenna (Charlize Theron) is resurrected through the mysterious Magic Mirror.
In a struggle to reclaim power over the kingdom, Ravenna reveals the truth about her niece’s death, forcing Freya to join forces with the reunited lovers in an epic and bloody clash.
A story of love, vanity and the often tumultuous relationship between sisters, The Huntsman: Winter’s War will take you on a fantastical journey into a world where beauty and jealousy reign supreme.
