Much Ado About Nothing

Queensland Theatre Company presents Shakespeare’s best-loved comedy, Much Ado About Nothing.

This month marks the anniversary of Shakespeare’s death in 1616.

Globally throughout 2016, theatre companies, cultural organisations, creatives, academics, and fanatics are paying homage for the 400-year anniversary through a program of performances and exhibitions.

Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare’s great comedies.

It’s a delightful look at the battle of the sexes and the freedom of individuals.

The common perception of the play is that it is a frivolous, silly comedy that is really all about ‘nothing’, but on closer inspection, this is not the case.

The romantic comedy is the timeless tale of two pairs of very different sweethearts, the people who want them to be together, and the people who try to rip them apart.

What better way to celebrate his 400-year legacy to western literature, performing arts, language and culture then with Much Ado About Nothing.
