Whisky Tango Foxtrot

Directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Reque, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is a comical but serious movie based on The Taliban Shuffle, the memoir of American war reporter Kim Barker.
Kim has hit middle age with no children and no marriage on the horizon. She’s a news writer for a major unnamed cable news network.

Bored and depressed with her mundane life, she throws in her desk job and takes up an offer at work to report from Kabul, Afghanistan.

In Kabul, Kim is quickly inducted into the precarious, promiscuous, hard-partying ex-pat existence by fellow journalist Tanya Vanderpoel (Margot Robbie).

As months become years, she starts to get reckless, deriving a kick from the danger and normalising the warped reality known as the “Kabubble”.

Whisky Tango Foxtrot brings to life a great script with a mix of humour, drama, and effective action moments.
