Following on from a successful launch in 2015, Brewoomba came back to delight the Darling Downs on August 6th 2016.
As Toowoomba’s premier craft beer festival, Brewoomba staged featured 3 iconic venues (The Spotted Cow, Mort Estate Hotel and Tapestry Bar) and 64+ international and homegrown breweries.
Set among the Jacarandas and crisp country air, Toowoomba served as a charming location for punters to get acquainted with an independent ale or two.
The event showcased big names such as 4 Pines, Stone and Wood, Little Creatures, and Brisbane favorite Green Beacon. Featured prominently throughout the festival, for any one beer to stand up and be counted is not an easy feat.
However Colonial Brewing Co did just that, cutting through the crowd with their intriguing rye IPA ‘The Rueben’.
After drumming up considerable hype at the Great Australasian Beer SpecTAPular in May this year ‘The Reuben’ took pride of place at the Spotted cow to refresh the Toowoomba crowd with smokily, sour complexity.
If your taste-buds required relief from all of the malty goodness that Brewoomba had to offer, Mort Estate was all to happy to help out, hosting a Hot Wing competition in the afternoon for anyone daring enough.
As the final pot of the last sampler tray was consumed it became clear that the popularity of craft beer industry in Australia will continue to go from strength to strength.
Paired with homegrown entertainment and food, Brewoomba was the perfect event to explore all that craft beer has to offer.
Anyone with a penchant for beer is encouraged to hop along to Brewoomba next year and experience the charm of craft beer first hand.
