Set to premiere in Brisbane early 2017, David McAllister’s ballet The Sleeping Beauty is set to be a magical, lavish and heart-warming performance.
The audience will be whisked away into the magical world of fairies and nymphs, where a prince is longing for love and a princess is caught in a spell of frozen time.
The sell-out production has travelled around the country and is set to run at Brisbane’s QPAC Theatre from the 24th of February to the 4th of March 2017.
Intricately detailed costumes with velvet, beads, tulle and sequins by the incredible Gabriela Tylesova bring the classic fairy tale to life on stage.
It is the age-old tale of Princess Aurora, who is cursed to an eternal slumber on her 16th birthday and left to be woken by her true love.
Tchaikovsky’s iconic score revitalised ballet music, and has been described as reaching directly to the hearts of his listeners.
Featuring a cast of The Australian Ballet’s finest, The Sleeping Beauty is a delightful, enchanting tale of love, loss and true love’s kiss.
