Brisbane’s culture scene gets a new hotel icon

Brisbane has become the fine arts mecca of Australia and world renowned with the Gallery of Modern Art celebrating its tenth birthday this December.

The all new The Johnson hotel in Spring Hill adds another bow to the local art scene with Brisbane’s first art hotel.
The Johnson is in the completely remodelled old Main Roads building on Boundary Street Spring Hill and is the latest hotel from the Art Series Hotel Group.

The Johnson joins its sibling hotels in Melbourne, Bendigo and Adelaide.

The Johnson celebrates the art and life of renowned contemporary abstract artist, Michael Johnson. Johnson’s work was characterised by symmetrical patterns and large areas of flat solid colours.

He spent ten years living in Townsville and during this time he became influenced by ecology of the environment.

The Johnson is adorned throughout with original art works and print of Michael Johnson, none more impressive than the large abstract paintings in the hotel lobby.

The hotel design has drawn its inspiration from the artist and the art experience is complimented with art channels, art books and library and art utensils available.

The hotel offers an impressive eighty-seven elegant suites and two extravagantly lavish penthouses with spectacular views over the city.

A fifty meter swimming pool with an expansive pool deck, a well planned gymnasium, lekker bicycle hire and smart cars match the art theme.

The Johnson is a spectacular hotel with the comforts and services to match any luxury escape in one of Brisbane’s cultural hubs.
