Art & opera collide in a sensual night to remember

Opera Queensland and QAGOMA have joined forces to bring you Sensory – a one night only magical event where art and opera collide. 

You will be mesmerized by live opera performances that take place throughout GOMA’s gallery space. 

The immersive event will take guests on a sensory journey throughout the gallery. 

Throughout, a difference sense is called upon as you will experience powerful sounds, aesthetic excellency and even a fine selection of gourmet food and wine. 

OperaQ Artistic Director Lindy Hume describes the Sensory experience as “a dream landscape”. 

“There’s no sense of any linear narrative or logical sequence of events, but as in a dream, everything one encounters is somehow familiar, with a deep and intangible undertow,” Ms Hume said.

The performers bringing you this cultural delight include acclaimed violinist Brendan Joyce and Brisbane favourite, soprano Sarah Crane. 

Musical highlights will include Strauss’ haunting ‘Die Nacht’ performed by Sarah, with Brisbane award-winning pianist Alex Raineri.

Sensory is a part of the exciting Goma Turns 10 celebrations, inviting all lovers of arts and culture to partake in this adventure that takes opera to a whole new setting.
