The enchanting story of The Little Mermaid was brought to life on stage by the talented youth Ballet Theatre of Queensland, presented by the Queensland Performing Arts Centre.
This classic tale is based on the popular Hans Christian Anderson book has audiences diving into the world of The Little Mermaid and her delightful journey to find her true love, and desire to discover the land above her.
Following The Little Mermaid’s magical underwater journey, on her 15th Birthday The Little Mermaid strikes a deal with the dreadful Sea Witch to grant her legs in her quest to find Prince Charming.
The fairy tale will delight audiences of all ages, and is particularly focused on the showcasing the talents of the younger ballet stars from the Ballet Theatre of Queensland.
The traditional tale has been choreographed by the brilliant Timothy Brown, and the gorgeous spectacle of costumes do not disappoint designed by Carmel Wenck.
Throughout the ballet the set design of the magical underwater world captivates audiences by the talented Rozina Suliman and Bill Haycock, and superb lighting by Wesley Bluff.
The Little Mermaid is a breathtaking story of love, friendship and the magical encounter’s that The Little Mermaid entail’s in her enchanting journey in the world of the sea.
