It’s been a long hot summer in Brisbane but excitement is bubbling with the arrival of The Alliance Francaise French Film Festival this autumn!
Now in its 29th year, it’s the biggest foreign film festival in Australia and the largest celebration of French Cinema outside France.
This year promises to be one of the most talked about events in Brisbane.
Screening across two Palace Cinema venues, there’s something for everyone including not to be missed special events.
With 50 movies on the line up like comedies, thrillers and romance, they will make you laugh, cry, entertain and thrill you.
Here are some of Brisbane Weekender’s favourites:
C’est La Vie (comedy) directed by Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano
Attend the opening night party on March 8th or catch a screening of this hilarious comedy about a wedding set in a 17th century chateau where Murphy’s law rules.
See You Up There (historic/drama) directed by Albert Dupontel
A truly remarkable film based on the award winning novel by Pierre Lemaitre.
Set in the 1920’s at the end of World War 2. Crime, intrigue, humour and love unfold in the most unlikely places.
Gauguin (biopic/drama) directed by Edouard Deluc.
An art lovers delight! This film follows life of Paul Gauguin, one of the 20th Centuries most significant Post- Impressionists. Photography of his time in Tahiti is exquisite.
