The Vino Bus is a fun and laid back tour service that allows wine buffs, foodies and explorers of all ages to experience the scenic wine region of Mt Tamborine without hassle.
The tour bus offers free pick up and drop off within Brisbane City and surrounding residential suburbs and the Gold Coast, making the tour easy and convenient for locals as well as tourists.
The friendly and relaxed tour guide takes care of every detail for the day, allowing passengers to sit back and enjoy the comfortable and air conditioned ride.
Passengers are treated to water bottles and snacks before you even realise that you’re hungry again and the tour guide will ensure all are served two course winery lunch at just the right time.
On arrival of the wineries, breweries and distilleries, the guide immediately sets the group up with more tastings than you could hope for – with some wine connoisseurs pulling their premium bottles off the shelf for a sneaky extra glass or two.
While each tour is different to the last, passengers are taken to family run wineries such as Mason Wines, Heritage Estate Wines which were given up to 94 points by James Halliday and the ever-so-charming estate of internationally-awarded Tamborine Mountain Distillery.
Those lucky enough to get to Witches Falls Winery will learn about the wine process with a peek behind the factory and wooden barrels.
The tour group are able to learn of owners and entrepreneurs Jon and Kim Heslop who grow their grapes nearby in the Granite Belt and experiment with progressive vinification methods.
At Cedar Creek Estate the hilarious and cheeky winery owner himself, John Penglis, pulls out all the stops with an extensive tasting of reds, whites and dessert wines – and a joke to go with each.
The day is well thought out with each stop complimenting the one before, taking tiresome research and packing of the day bag out of your hands.
While the stunning scenery, English charm of the cottages and the abundance of tastings excite all, it’s the passion of the tour guides that rubs off and truly makes the day.
Those who enjoy the sites in a more quiet and intimate setting can take advantage of the weekday bus trips and team building days.
Join the road trips of The Vino Bus where your only job is to enjoy the charming mountain views with a tipple of choice.
Disclaimer: Excessive wine tastings may cause you to become a connoisseur of wine within 2 hours of first consumption.
