The Man Who Invented Christmas

As the Christmas season approaches quickly, this jolly good film, The Man Who Invented Christmas, is a witty and warm one to add to the merry list.

Charles Dickens, one of the Victorian Era’s greatest novelists, is played by Dan Stevens bringing to the life the creation of his self published novel the Christmas Carol. With increasing personal debt, a reckless father (played by Jonathon Pryce) and recurring literary miscarriages, Dickens internally confronts the demons from his past by conjuring up characters like Ebenezer Scrooge (Christopher Plummer) in a race to complete his new novel before the Christmas season.

This film will incite appreciation for the little things in life such as family and the gift of goodwill. It brings about festivity as we lead into the Christmas season. Most of all it shows the personal hardships and triumphs experienced by Charles Dickens in his literary career. The Man Who Invented Christmas is a heart warmer and a must see.

Best snack to eat with The Man Who Invented Christmas: Chocolate coated almonds and popcorn of course.
