Aladdin at QPAC

Ballet Theatre Queensland have brought to life the fable tale of Aladdin at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre.

The delightful performance explored the magic of childhood wonder, Middle Eastern culture and stories of Arabian nights.

Ballet Theatre Queensland adapted the traditional tale of Aladdin by introducing new characters including very cheeky monkeys and silky kittens.

Artistic Director Timothy Brown showcased variations on ballets La Bayadere and Le Corsair.

A spectacularly fun scene from the performance was within the cave of wonders where jewels glittered around Aladdin and his delightful flying carpet.

After a battle inside the palace walls Aladdin won the heart and the hand in marriage of his stunning princess.

The costumes worn by Aladdin and his princess were light, ethereal pieces with a soft turquoise and pale blue colour palette. The traditional harem pants and tops were dressed with dazzling Swarovski crystals.

Aladdin by Ballet Theatre Queensland was a fun, lively and endearing performance supported and encouraged by their home town.
