Anything Goes

Opera Australia and John Frost invites Brisbane to get on board their American ocean liner with hilarious and joyful Helpmann Award winning musical Anything Goes.

Winner of three Tony Awards, including Best Musical Revival and Choreography during its most recent Broadway run, Anything Goes is a feel-good performance that boasts incredible talent.

The show captures the audience with strong vocals by leading lady and evangelist turned nightclub singer Reno Sweeney, performed by Caroline O’Connor.

Her voice bellows over the Queensland Performing Arts Centre’s lyric Theatre while her wit and charm keeps the crowd in their seats for the journey from New York to London.

O’Connor’s talent is met by everybody’s favourite, Todd McKenney, who plays the endearing and quirky Lord Evelyn Oakleigh.

Meanwhile, Alex Rathgeber, who has won Best Male Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical, captures the hearts of Brisbane with his daring and law-breaking quest to win over his true love. Rathgeber has the audience laughing hysterically with his new trio of most dangerous persons that quickly brings fame aboard the ship of wealthy ladies.

Anything Goes takes hold of the crowd with an incredibly energetic cast, including a crew of singing sailors, a delightful set design, a series of hilarious antics and an overload of topsy-turvy relationships.
