Champagne bottles were popped and the party hats were out in celebration of the QUT Gardens Theatre 10th anniversary and 2015 season launch.
Friends, faculty members and fans of QUT’s Performing Arts venue joined to celebrate the past ten years, as well as explore up and coming performances for Gardens Theatre in the year to come.
While mingling under lines of low-lit lanterns with the smooth rhythm of a three-piece jazz band, guests were taken back through previous performances where they had laughed, cried and felt deep connections with the characters and stories.
Unsurprisingly, there was no shortage of interest in the line-up of comedy, musical and dramatic performances when the launch revealed what guests could expect in the coming 2015 season.
Adaptations of Alan Seymour’s 1958 play, The One Day of the Year and lively 60’s era musical The Fabulous Singlettes were on the agenda as well as the comedies Australia Day, Just the Ticket and more.
Guests were welcomed to subscribe to selected performances, or to enjoy the full season of entertainment. 2015 subscribers to Garden’s Theatre were also invited to see five light-hearted performances produced by final year QUT students.
